The Open Channel – New Frequencies album breathes new life into Crenshaw’s original tracks, amplifying the already profound impact of the 2024 album release that spurred a 60-plus date tour. These remixes not only reinterpret the foundational sounds of the original album but also explore new sonic territories, affirming Crenshaw’s influence across various bass music subgenres. Shanghai Doom, emerging from Central Jersey, infuses sinister inspirations into their dark, heavy bass music. LYNY, notable for his blend of hip-hop influenced bass music and melodic compositions, has garnered support from industry giants. New Orleans duo sfam is recognized for their heavy bass and minimal trap beats, carving a unique niche within the experimental bass scene. Super Future, from Detroit, combines ethereal downtempo with intense trap, captivating audiences nationwide with his expansive musical journeys. ASHEZ, hailing from Auckland, brings a powerful bass presence that resonates globally. Lastly, So Sus from Vancouver is celebrated for his engaging electronic productions. In effect, this has marked him as a standout in the Canadian music scene.
