William Black Releases Most Personal Album to Date, ‘The Shadow Realm’ Accompanied by Tour

William Black, one of melodic bass’s most emotionally resonant producers, has just unveiled his most personal project to date: The Shadow Realm LP, out everywhere now via Insomniac’s Lost In Dreams.

The 12-track project centers on themes of struggle, loss, recovery, and release. It combines his signature melodic bass sound with heavier, more introspective production, taking listeners from their darkest and uplifting them to better days.

I starts quiet and dark with ‘Find Me In The Dark,’ where baby blue’s soft voice floats over gentle piano before the beat finally kicks in. ‘Save Me‘ with Kate Morgan is the big, bright festival song everyone already knows, while ‘Monster‘ gets heavier and more intense with sharp, glitchy sounds.

‘Nightmare‘ with Fairlane and AMIDY is loud and chaotic in an exciting way, perfect for a mainstage. Things slow down for the dreamy ‘Waiting On This Day Forever,’ then ‘Empty Space (Without You Pt. 2)‘ gives fans the bigger, more powerful follow-up they wanted to the older song. ‘Run‘ and ‘Too Good To Be True‘ tug on your heartstrings before bringing you back with soaring melodies. The album is touched up with ‘Goodbye‘ alongside Blanke and MGRD, a massive, bittersweet final song that mixes heavy beats with a sad-but-uplifting melody. Overall, the album takes you from feeling lost and broken to slowly finding your way out, and he’s about to take the whole thing on his the Shadow Realm tour.
