It is an exciting time for Anjunabeats, and for us, for sure. Hello and Merry Christmas everyone. I am so thrilled to share this news with you right here, right now: Nitrous Oxide is back on Anjunabeats with a proper, Golden Era Trance track. I’m talking lush pads, soaring leads, driving rhythms, and 138 beats landing every single minute. And it’s called ‘Stardust‘. This is truly groundbreaking, because it’s something fans have been begging Anjunabeats to do literally for decades. I’m not even joking when I say it has been a 15-year wait to get this kind of big-roomy, uplifting sound back on the label that started it all for many of us. I am so incredibly happy that we’re able to return to the music that shaped how we perceive and feel life. It just feels right; it feels so good to have this kind of Trance back on the label we love. ‘Stardust‘ is a real experience. Just for the record, whenever an extended mix is available, I skip the radio edit and jump straight into the full version. When I did that for this track, I was immediately blown away by the speed and the percussion. It put a smile on my face from ear to ear. It’s unbelievable to have this sound back on Anjuna, especially coming from one of the most legendary contributors to that very sound in the label’s quarter-century history. This track has it all: the Classic Trance feeling, the gated rhythms, and a hook that sticks with you. The track flows into the break with such grace that it feels like 2006 all over again. From there, it builds into a magnificent drop: the kind we’ve waited so long to hear on this label. Everything just flows your way, and all those old feelings come rushing back. It almost feels weird to have a smartphone in your hand while listening to this. A much better match would’ve been to dust off my Sony Walkman flip phone to enjoy this special moment. The song is actually so good that it even takes the time to craft a third drop and a C-section in the middle, in pure Golden Era fashion. It boils down what used to be a nine-minute journey into seven minutes, accommodating today’s faster-paced world while still giving us a seven-minute opus, which is a rare treat these days. I feel spoiled, like Christmas arrived early for me, and even though I’ve been listening to this song on repeat since it came out last Friday, I’m considering it a symbolic Christmas gift from two of the entities that’ve marked who I am and what I seek: Anjunabeats, and Nitrous Oxide. This is quite possibly one of the best gifts I’ve received this year. Thank you Chris, and thank you Anjunabeats. This is a huge moment for many of us, and I truly hope this is the start of a true comeback for the sound we all fell in love with under that big “A” logo.
