The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has shared 10 shortlists of potential nominees at the 94th Oscars ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Today’s announcement includes possible candidates in the categories of Documentary Feature, Music (Original Score), and Music (Original Song), among others.

The Documentary Feature shortlist includes three music films: Questlove‘s, Todd Haynes’ The Velvet Undeground, and Billy Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry.

The Original Score list is full of familiar names, such as Hans Zimmer (Dune, No Time to Die), Nicholas Britell (Don’t Look Up), Alexandre Desplat (The French Dispatch), and Jonny Greenwood (The Power of the Dog and Spencer).

The Original Song list is similarly star studded. Beyoncé‘s “Be Alive.” from the King Richard soundtrack appears alongside Jay-Z and Kid Cudi‘s “Guns Go Bang” from The Harder They Fall, and Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi’s “Just Look Up” from Don’t Look Up. “Be Alive” would be Beyoncé’s first Oscar nomination, though she’s performed at the ceremony in previous years. If it’s nominated along with “Guns Go Bang,” 2022 will be the first time a married couple competes for an Oscar in any category. And if “Guns Go Bang” and “Just Look Up” both make the next cut, Kid Cudi will be the first artist to be up for two Best Original Song Osars in the same year since Lionel Richie in 1986.

Other nominees for the category include Billie Eilish and FinneasNo Time to Die theme, Brian Wilson and Jim James‘ “Right Where I Belong,” H.E.R.‘s “Automatic Woman,” and U2‘s “Your Song Saved My Life.” Read the Academy’s full shortlists for Best Original Score and Best Original Song below.
