Charlotte de Witte is taking Bob Moses’ & Zhu’s ‘‘ to a new level. It’s a surprisingly powerful remix of their track. Giving the original a techno makeover, she inputs her notable technical handiwork. She loops the lyrics into an underground, hypnotic track. In the beginning, she slowly progresses the tune with a rattling synth. The heart-throbbing kick drums introduce the chorus while adding an industrial vibe to it. This is a less acidic side for Charlotte, but a pristine production regardless. Her signature marches shine through with this one. Transforming this into an almost eight-minute piece, buckle up. It’s no doubt that great remixes are bred from this single. Another example of that is Solomun’s rendition, a slower more melodic version focused on heartbreak. Similarly, Zhu and Bob Moses’ original focused on pleasure. It’s been quite a year for music, in the era of virtual entertainment. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped these guys from keeping their momentum. We can appreciate this deep techno take. This remix no doubt confirms Charlotte’s status on MixMag and DJ Mag charts. Her year bookends with this song but she’s done quite well this year. Meanwhile, Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance took to Twitch podcasts for their “touring” schedule. In celebration of this remix, she appeared on their channel today at 7 PM PST for some conversation. For those that missed it, subscribers can find their video here. Want more fun?
