Today, we are joined by Producer and DJ Chewna to dive into his latest release, ‘Infinity’ – a two-track EP that highlights his evolving style, blending bold rhythms with melodic detail. With ‘Infinity’ recently charting on Beatport, Chewna is garnering attention for his work, stepping forward as a promising artist on the Electronic Music scene as he continues to shape a sound that bridges his influences with a forward-thinking approach. As we explore the ideas behind the release and the creative process that brought the EP to life, we gain a deeper insight into Chewna’s artistry and a glimpse into the new music and performances he has lined up for the future. Hi Chewna, how are you? I’m doing unbelievable, thank you! Feeling inspired and excited about what’s next. Let’s go back to the beginning—where did the initial idea for ‘Infinity’ come from? The idea for ‘Infinity’ started from wanting to capture a sense of endless energy and momentum. It was about translating that feeling of timelessness you experience when you’re lost in music on a dancefloor. How did you approach the creative direction for this EP? Was there a particular concept or feeling you wanted to explore sonically? I really wanted to explore deeper emotional layers with a strong rhythmic backbone. The goal was to blend melodic elements with driving beats, creating a balance that was perfect for both the car radio and a festival main stage. There’s a strong rhythmic and percussive presence across both tracks—what inspired those elements specifically? Percussion is always a big part of my production style. I draw a lot of inspiration from Afro and Latin rhythms because they add such dynamic movement and depth, and I wanted to use those elements to give each track its own unique pulse. How did the process differ between creating ‘Infinity’ and ‘Running’? Were they built in tandem or did they evolve separately? They evolved separately, actually. ‘Infinity’ came together relatively quickly, driven by a clear vision from the start, whereas ‘Running’ took a bit longer to refine, evolving through experimentation until it felt right. How did you approach the vocal work on this project? What draws you to working with vocal lines in your productions? Vocals bring an emotional depth and human element to Electronic Music that I absolutely love. For this EP, I wanted vocals that complemented the tracks rhythmically and melodically, serving as both a focal point and an additional layer of texture. What challenges did you face during the production process? Any moments where the direction changed unexpectedly? Absolutely—there were moments when I had to step back and reassess. Particularly with ‘Running,’ I initially struggled with the arrangement. It started as something much busier, but simplifying it turned out to be exactly what the track needed. In what ways does ‘Infinity’ reflect where you’re at artistically right now—and where do you see your sound heading next? ‘Infinity’ really captures where I am right now, blending melodic complexity with rhythmic intensity. Moving forward, I want to continue exploring that balance, perhaps pushing even further into melodic experimentation. ‘Infinity’ has already garnered attention, reaching #8 on the Beatport Melodic House & Techno chart – can you share what this milestone means to you and how you hope to build on this success? It’s an incredible feeling and really validating to see the support. It motivates me to keep pushing creatively. I’m looking forward to building on this momentum with more music and expanding my live sets. Finally, what’s next? Can fans expect more releases or live performances on the horizon? Definitely! I have new tracks in the pipeline and some exciting gigs coming up. Keep an eye out—I’ll be announcing more soon but already announced in Eden, Ibiza, Ministry of Sound in London and then many other really cool gigs lined up.
