Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Set To Join Fred again.. For Special Appearance At Alexandra Palace

Fans attending Fred again..’s show at Alexandra Palace tonight are in for a historic moment. Thomas Bangalter, best known as one half of Daft Punk, is set to appear as a special guest during the performance, marking another rare return to the electronic stage for the legendary producer.

Since Daft Punk officially ended their run in 2021, Bangalter has largely stepped away from club performances, shifting his attention and a solo artist toward orchestral compositions, film scores, and experimental projects. Because of that, any live appearance in a traditional electronic setting has become a notable event for fans and the wider dance music community.

The two artists already share some recent history behind the decks. In October 2025, Bangalter surprised fans by joining Fred again.. for a back-to-back set at Centre Pompidou in Paris. The set marked Bangalter’s first public DJ performance in roughly 16 years and blended iconic Daft Punk tracks with Fred’s modern electronic sound.

Tonight’s collaboration arrives as part of Fred again..’s USB002 tour, which has already become known for unpredictable guest appearances and emotionally charged live moments. Bringing Bangalter into the mix adds another layer of significance, bridging the legacy of French house with the current generation of electronic music performance.

For fans packed inside Alexandra Palace, as well as those watching from afar, the appearance represents more than just a surprise guest. It’s a rare intersection of two eras of electronic music coming together on one stage, celebrating the genre’s past while pushing its live experience forward.
