2026 is proving to be a year of jackpot for Prydaholics! Close to the heels of the return of his signature EPIC Radio after 6 years in March, Swedish dance music icon Eric Prydz has dropped another bombshell! A new label that will primarily be a playground to release the more vibrant Eric Prydz sound that was lacking all these years. A move that will probably eradicate the only possible missing chink in the progressive house legend’s armor. It is a universal fact that Eric Prydz’ primary sound bank of different genres has a stable of its own all these years run by the man himself. The deep, melodic progressive house releases with the classic Pryda twist have a home called Pryda Recordings. Pryda is also the alias he uses to showcase this category of his work. The legend’s own distinguished take on techno under the Cirez D alias has always been displayed under his label called Mouseville. The Eric Prydz’ segment of releases were always dependent on labels that did not belong to him. The last Eric Prydz release, NOPUS, saw the light of day under the Ministry of Sound label. Even the only Eric Prydz album, OPUS, found its home on Virgin Records. The first announcement of the launch of Lycka Recordings occurred on Prydz’ own EPIC Radio podcast on Thursday and came as a pleasantly astonishing event for fans around. With Lycka (meaning happiness in Swedish) Recordings, Prydz aims to have ‘more control’ over his Eric Prydz section of releases. There has not been an “Eric Prydz” release since ‘NOPUS’ in 2020, but many assume the vocal track that he opened Ultra 2026 with could be the next one. After a drought of recent releases, this is the exact news that a Prydaholic would be eager to witness. That’s not all. During the latest EPIC Radio episode, Eric spoke about the exciting reunion with Swedish House Mafia, of which he was a founding member. He talks about having a blast with them and at the end he says: And the only thing I have to say is: to be continued – Eric Prydz Could this mean a collaboration on a track, a reworking and release of some long demanded singles like the infamous ‘Bedtime Stories’, or maybe some sort of true b2b set(s)? All of the possibilities are very exciting! You can watch the episode below, and it’s set to start right where he discusses the SHM team up.
2026 already sounds like the best year a Prydaholic can imagine in the last 5 years or so. Stay tuned here!Eric Prydz Announces New Label and Teases More Swedish House Mafia Collaborations
