The 60th Annual Grammy Awards took place in both Los Angeles and New York City tonight. The televised ceremony was on the west coast while the lesser awards were announced in a private ceremony on the east coast. Overall the awards went about as expected. Big winners on the night were Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar who both took home several honors. The two electronic acts nominated during the televised awards ended up not winning their awards. Zedd and Alessia Cara lost best Pop Duo to Portugal. The Man and Calvin Harris lost Best Producer, Non Classical to Greg Kurstin. So maybe it was not exactly EDM’s year to shine in the spot light, even though Daft Punk played a mighty hand in helping The Weeknd bring home some honors for his album, ‘Starboy’.
