Innellea Speaks On Feeling “Stuck” And Announces Hiatus From Social Media

Innellea has announced a temporary social media hiatus after sharing that he feels “stuck” creatively. In a new Instagram post — now the only upload visible on his profile — the artist reflected on his early rave experiences and how they shaped the Innellea project.

He described those first events as spaces without judgment, where music had no borders. Since launching the project, he explained that he has followed that same instinct. As a result, his sets and releases have spanned ambient, melodic techno, tech house, breakbeats, and occasional techno influences.

However, he acknowledged that expectations around his sound have increased over time. “I’ve been reading more and more comments telling me what Innellea should sound like,” he wrote. “Yet somehow, I feel stuck.”

Innellea said he remains grateful for feedback from listeners. At the same time, he noted that constant commentary can shape how an artist is perceived. He emphasized that the project was never meant to represent one specific style. Instead, he described Innellea as a “full spectrum” electronic music journey, including long-format sets and live vocal elements. Nevertheless, he questioned what he is “actually allowed to do as an artist” under current expectations.

Because of this, Innellea confirmed he will be stepping back from online activity.

“What I do know is that I need to step back from noise, from feeds, from opinions,” he wrote. “I’m taking some space to reconnect with myself and the music.”

Meanwhile, all previous Instagram posts have been removed, leaving only the statement visible on his profile. He did not specify how long the hiatus will last.

Several artists responded in the comments section following the post. Chris Avantgarde shared that polarizing reactions can signal authenticity. Additionally, Massano encouraged him to continue creating what feels natural. Other artists, including Adriatique, Hardwell, Colyn, and Hernán Cattáneo, also reacted publicly with supportive comments and emojis.

Innellea’s message comes shortly after KSHMR shared his own thoughts about creative pressure and evolving expectations within electronic music. Earlier this month, KSHMR spoke openly about navigating changes in his sound and the difficulty of balancing artistic identity with audience expectations. While the situations differ, both artists highlighted the challenge of staying authentic in a rapidly shifting music landscape.
