Global music sensation John Summit announced his highly anticipated new album CTRL ESCAPE. Set for release on April 15th on Experts Only / Darkroom Records, the album captures a story of transformation and reclaimed purpose. Building on the duality explored on his debut album Comfort in Chaos—vice and virtue, highs and lows—it reframes that tension through a new lens: the clash between 9–5 monotony and the electric release of the rave. Sonically and visually tracing Summit’s path from accountant to artist, the project positions music not just as an escape, but as a communal force—where collective euphoria becomes both rebellion and belonging. This contrast comes to life in the visuals in his debut track “LIGHTS GO OUT,” which mirror the suffocating repetition of routine before bursting into explosive freedom, using the shift from cubicles and office life to club lights and chaos to tell a deeper story of self-liberation. Kicking off with the infectious chorus, “where do we go when the lights go out,” the track opens on a question that beckons a response before diving into a fast paced mix of tech house and trap-style drops, layered with heavy synths. Recently announced, John Summit will make his Ibiza residency debut later this year, headlining nine Mondays at [UNVRS], alongside his UK summer headline debut at Labyrinth Events’ Tofte Manor. During Miami Music Week, he will close Ultra Music Festival’s mainstage before heading to back-to-back Experts Only ski weekenders in Vail and Whistler. Summit will also appear at Ultra South Africa, EDC Mexico, and Tomorrowland, before returning to New York City for the highly anticipated return of the Experts Only Festival following its sold-out 2025 debut.
