In addition to the competition, live events and a docu-series across six nations are making up the Miller Mix campaign. Miller and Beatport have joined forces to launch Miller Mix – a global initiative to nurture, celebrate, and drive connections for the electronic music talent of the future across six nations: Turkey, Georgia (tbc), Kazakhstan, Hungary, Australia, and South Africa. In a recent Youth Music report, 77% of emerging creatives cite a “lack of industry connections” as a major obstacle to entering the music industry. Miller Mix’s initiative aims to address that obstacle head-on and help aspiring talents progress careers by promoting a sense of connection. The Miller Mix campaign includes: The campaign will kick off in each country with an open call for up-and-coming producers to submit their music. A panel formed by the headlining artists of the Miller Mix events, alongside members of the Beatport curation team and the Miller Genuine Draft team will select the winners – votes from the community will also contribute to the decision. The headlining artists who will join the Beatport and Miller panel include Lilly Palmer (Turkey) 8th June, Argy (Kazakhstan), and Gioli & Assia (Hungary) 31st August, with more to be announced. At the end of each local event, Miller will release a docu-series telling the stories of local artists and city residents, highlighting the culture of the host cities. Central to the campaign is exploring the significance of music collectives and their role in enriching the music scene. Collectives nurture creativity and community, serving as dynamic hubs where diverse artists converge, fostering innovation and cultivating the next generation of talent. Amidst political backlash, music collectives create havens for free expression, as we have seen with challenges like the recent spate of UK venue closures and Hungarian authoritarianism. The winners of the competition aspect to the campaign will receive a headliner set at the Miller Mix event in their respective territories and a package of benefits curated by Beatport with a value of over €5,000 per winner to support their career development. The complete prize package includes: Ed Hill, Senior Vice President of Beatport Media Services, spoke on the campaign: “Empowering music producers and DJs worldwide has always been at the core of Beatport. This collaboration with Miller will provide a nurturing space for talent to flourish, fostering connections and opportunities essential for success in today’s ever-evolving industry.” To enter to win, head to the website – www.millermix.beatport.com/ – entrants must be 18 or over.
