MØ releases sophomore album, 'Forever Neverland' [Stream]

Danish vocalist MØ provides listeners a strong array of name new cuts on her sophomore album, Forever Neverland. The 14-track product follows the discharge of her 2014 debut LP, No Mythologies To Follow, and like MØ’s earlier providing, sees the singer lengthen her inimitable vocals throughout a sequence of songs on which MØ is the only real artist. Forever Neverland is selective in its options — the album invitations simply 5 collaborators, What So Not and Two Feet on “Mercy,” Charli XCX on “If It’s Over,” Empress Of on “Red Wine,” and Diplo on the beforehand launched and well-received single, “Sun In Our Eyes.” MØ oversees the remaining 10 album inclusions.

Released on Columbia Records, Forever Neverland additional develops MØ’s model of pop. An album that isn’t purely pop in its sound, MØ adulterates the pop stylistics of Forever Neverland with refined tinges of different musical aesthetics. “West Hollywood (Interlude)” is a piano-assisted ballad break within the album, whereas “Blur” takes a singer-songwriter method at its intro. Tropical sound components permeate Forever Neverland, however are particularly audible on “Red Wine,” and “Purple Like the Summer Rain.” Forever Neverland is the host of melodic twists and vocal hooks that draw the listener in for a streaming expertise that feels contemporary and unique, bespeaking MØ’s capability to deliver creativity to the pop style with every successive launch.
