Mt.Sierra’s Wife Posthumously Releases His Latin Infused House Track ‘Malo’

Mt.Sierra sadly left our EDMTunes family last year. Matt was a talented DJ and producer who had ambitions of taking his music around the world. He personally inspired me to start my music journey at Icon Collective, exactly where he started his.

His wife Jessica Sierra, decided to keep releasing Matt’s music in his honor and into the world for all to enjoy. Mt.Sierra is getting the Avicii treatment, and we are so happy to keep hearing more of his music. Jessica specifically decided to release ‘Malo’ on Matt’s Birthday, April 9th.

Matt’s newest track comes in a new form, as it is his first Latin House record. He was exploring new styles and expansions of his skills. ‘Malo’ is groovy, and the hypnotic vocal will have your feet moving to the beat. The bassline is bouncy and not overly aggressive. Everything in the track is given perfect space to breathe. Congas, shakers, and subtle rhythmic fills drive the track forward.

Jessica had this to say about her late husband. She is happy to be fulfilling his dream, however she can:

Matt was also in the process of launching his own music label, The Summit. It was also the name of his upcoming event series, with the opening event planned last year at Grand Masters Recording in Hollywood. It was Matt’s dream to see the label and spearheading events come to fruition.

Matt’s family lit a star on a Mountain in El Paso, shining red last night in loving memory of Matthew Edward Sierra, on behalf of his children, Natalia, Teddy, and Ollie. May his light continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him.
