Music Production for Women (MPW) has announced a two-day Women in Music Tech Summit on October 19th and 20th, consisting of music masterclasses to empower female and non-gender-conforming musicians. The event will be held online to increase accessibility and will feature sessions with the likes of MPG Award Winning vocal producer, Ramera Abraham, Ableton Certified Trainer, LNA and MPW’s award winning founder and CEO, Xylo Aria. More teachers for the event are to be announced over the coming month. The Summit, backed by Creative Australia, will have free tickets available for all to attend. MPW previously ran the same event in 2022, and attracted over 2000 registrants from over 120 countries. The days will feature 10 workshops on a variety of topics that many independent artists today need to know such as the basics of music production, sound-design and mixing, as well as music marketing, PR and songwriting workflow. Both days will also include networking sessions to allow attendees to build their networks with other like-minded musicians. “It’s such a privilege for me to run these events as I know how transformative they have been previously in changing the mindset of many attendees toward music technology”, says Xylo. “Once women see that there is no reason they can’t learn the skills to produce music, they have surpassed the most significant hurdle!” she adds. MPW, an organisation that began five years ago and has since been included on the Top 50 Innovators of East London list in 2020, been named a finalist in the 2023 and 2024 Business xCellence Awards and earned Xylo an Honourable Mention in the IABCA 2024 Young Business Professional of the Year Awards presented at the Australian Parliament House. During this time, MPW has run workshops and courses to over 8,000 musicians from over 120 countries and continues to grow steadily. The organisation was created to empower women in music technology and prides itself on not only providing practical and actionable educational content but also on harbouring a safe and encouraging space to learn. Free tickets for the event will be available until the event capacity has been reached. Find MPW on Instagram.Music Production For Women (MPW) Has Announced A Free 2 Day Course
