[PREVIEW] Spring Festival Bringing ILLENIUM, Diesel, DJ Snake, and Tiësto for Lunar New Year

Get ready to usher in the Year of the Snake over back to back weekends! Pulse Events third annual Spring Festival: Lunar New Year Celebration, is this week and will be their biggest edition yet. Under the phase two lineup release, ‘Godfather of dance music’ Tiësto was announced to headline two nights during the second weekend. Expanding to 5 days, the festival will take place at Avant Gardner on Thursday, January 30th to Saturday, February 1st, and continue on Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th. Partying in the winter has never been more exciting with the edition of this festival to the tristate area, especially with the lineup Pulse Events has prepared for us. On top of state of the art production, Avant Gardner will be decked out in traditional Asian decor to bolster the festive ambiance.

Spring Festival’s lineup offering this year is stacked in sheer talent with artists who play various genres. As a way to get you situated with everything the festival has to offer, we break down each night for you.

Weekend One

Night 1: Tickets here

ILLENIUM will be taking center stage on night 1. Also known as Nick Miller, he reigns supreme in the melodic bass realm. Blending the raw energy of dubstep with the ethereal beauty of melodic bass, his sound is genre defying, captivating millions worldwide. From intimate club shows to stadium-sized spectacles, ILLENIUM’s live performances are legendary. The Denver based DJ has cemented himself as one of the most accomplished melodic bass artists by curating his own massive shows and festivals like Ember Shores and Trilogy. He has released five studio albums, and numerous notable remixes, including those for The Chainsmokers’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down‘, Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero‘ and Flume’s ‘Say It’, the latter of which won the award for, “Remix of the Year” at the inaugural Electronic Music Awards in 2017. His work ethic has definitely paid off, and it shows from his dedicated fan base that wears his jerseys to all of his shows. The artist is hot off of a mainstage performance at EDC Thailand and will be performing at EDC Korea in April.

Also performing on night 1 is Los Angeles-based artist JVNA who weaves intricate instrumentation with soaring vocals, creating an emotionally resonant and uniquely personal sound. In 2023, the American-Taiwanese artist released her sophomore Album Play With You, which ventured into an experimental space with bass driven production, all with the bold themes of self empowerment and breaking free from convention. Her set is definitely not to be missed as she invites listeners into a dreamer like soundscape where vulnerability and strength can coexist through her resonating vocals and lush yet powerful melodic basslines. Joining JVNA on support is hometown favorite Zack Martino. Born and raised in New York City, Zack developed a love and passion for house music at a young age amidst the iconic nightlife scene of NYC. His production has landed him releases on renowned labels like such as Atlantic Records, Capitol Records, Ultra, Armada, Trap Nation & more. His sound is characterized by driving rhythms, soaring melodies, and hypnotic atmospheres which make his music a club dancefloor favorite.

Shaquille O’Neal, the legendary NBA champion and global icon, will be unleashing his inner beast as DJ Diesel, bringing the house down with a thunderous blend of bass-heavy EDM. Known for his high-energy performances, infectious stage presence, and a unique ability to connect with crowds of all ages, Shaq knows how to put on a show. He often will join the crowds during his own shows to even join in on the fun. We can expect a relentless barrage of trap, dubstep, and hip-hop anthems, expertly mixed with Shaq’s signature charisma. The global superstar has graced main stages around the globe from Lost Lands to Tomorrowland, EDC LV, Lost Lands, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo, Forbidden Kingdom, Beyond Wonderland, and even launched his own festival series – Shaq’s Bass All-Stars – all while balancing a Las Vegas residency at the WYNN (XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club). If you’ve ever wanted to mosh with Shaq at the front rails, its highly recommended that you come this night for that chance!

Joining Shaq, is a fan favorite in the dubstep community, Space Laces. Known for his next level production and high energy sets, he’s become a staple in the scene and is known for pioneering a lot of the modern sound design that you hear today. Massive collaborations under his belt include ‘Throwing Elbows‘, ‘Rumble‘, and ‘Conqueror’ with Marshmello. Hailing from Korea, yetep will be joining the stacked Saturday lineup. Seamlessly blending a diverse array of emotive electronic sub-genres, he has earned praise and recognition from industry heavyweights such as Seven Lions, Dabin, Adventure Club, and many others. His 2019 breakout track ‘Petals from a Rose’ currently has over 7 million streams on Spotify and ‘Gravity’ with over 3 million. His most recent release is ‘All We Get‘ with Elephante.

No artist better exemplifies the spirit of global dance music than DJ Snake. Over the past decade, he’s achieved a level of success rarely seen, transforming the landscape of electronic music. Snake’s 2016 debut album, Encore, reached #1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and achieved global acclaim. His 2019 album, Carte Blanche, solidified his superstardom with worldwide hits like ‘Loco Contigo‘ (featuring J. Balvin & Tyga) and ‘Taki Taki‘ (featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna, and Cardi B). Since his first #1 single, ‘Let Me Love You‘ (featuring Justin Bieber), Snake has consistently broken records. He’s delivered iconic tracks like ‘Turn Down for What‘ (with Lil Jon), amassed over 40 billion global streams, and earned numerous platinum and diamond certifications. This will be an epic way to close out the weekend with Snake’s explosive energy and high caliber hits.

Known for his production prowess and uplifting melodies, Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter Audien has established himself as an icon in the dance community. A staple in the progressive house genre, he garnered the support of industry veterans such as Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Zedd, Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren through an extensive discography that includes collaborations with the likes of ARTY, MAX and Echosmith, and official remixes of songs by Coldplay, Halsey, Nile Rodgers, Bastille and Calvin Harris. His set is a must watch for anyone who is a fan of the progressive house genre. Some of his most iconic hits include ‘One Last Dance‘, Kill the Lights‘, and his remix for Halsey’s ‘Color’. Henry Fong will also be joining in on the stacked lineup. Collaborating with top names like Hardwell, Deorro, and R3hab, he’s known for his dynamic remixes for artists like Calvin Harris, Rihanna, DJ Snake, and more. With over 1.5 billion streams, his music has gained recognition from major record labels, while his electrifying performances at renowned festivals like EDC Vegas and Ultra Music Festival have captivated audiences worldwide.

Weekend Two

Throughout his extensive career, he has created music in all genres, becoming a global icon synonymous with electrifying live performances. His journey began in the underground scene, where he quickly rose to prominence, revolutionizing electronic music and introducing it to a mainstream audience. Today, at the peak of his creativity, Tiësto continues to evolve his sound, headlining the world’s biggest festivals and maintaining his legendary Las Vegas residency. With over 40 million albums sold, eight Billboard Hot 100 hits, and a staggering 25 billion streams worldwide, Tiësto’s impact is undeniable. Celebrating Asian Culture

Pulse Events mission is to bridge the east and the west through a collective love of dance music, all while promoting Asian culture. Spring Festival will immerse attendees in authentic Asian culture to celebrate Lunar New Year. Traditional lion dance performances will grace the stage, and guests can explore a vibrant night market experience featuring authentic asian cusine and interactive booth stations each night of the festival. Come early with your friends because the night market will feature a Glam Booth, Spin the Wheel, 360 Photo Booth, Fortune Wall, and a Kandi Booth. The festival will also delve into the symbolism of the Year of the Snake, associated with wisdom, transformation, and charm, fostering a deeper understanding of Lunar New Year traditions.
