The Weeknd has been announced as a headliner at the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime show next year. The event, co-produced by Roc Nation, will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, on Feb. 7, 2021.
“We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position,” The Weeknd said about the upcoming performance. “I’m humbled, honored, and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”
“The Weeknd has introduced a sound all his own. His soulful uniqueness has defined a new generation of greatness in music and artistry,” added JAY-Z in a press release about the announcement, as 2021 will mark Roc Nation’s second year as producers of the show. “This is an extraordinary moment in time and the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show is going to be an extraordinary experience with an extraordinary performer.”
The Weeknd took to Twitter yesterday and earlier today to share teaser videos for the performance, ahead of the official announcement.
