Wax Motif and Ty Dolla $ign Bridge House and Hip-Hop on New Single ‘Bad & U Know It’

Wax Motif has released ‘Bad & U Know It,’ his new single with Ty Dolla $ign, out today via Divided Souls. It serves as the lead track from his upcoming album House of Wax II.

‘Bad & U Know It’ pairs Ty Dolla $ign’s addictive vocals with Wax Motif’s minimal, groove-heavy production. The track draws from house, hip-hop, and R&B, delivering late-night club energy while holding up outside the dance floor. The track has been a long time coming now due to the collaboration that Wax has had with Ty over the years and we can all see how crazy of a heater it is.

Wax Motif has spent years building a catalog that crosses club rooms and mainstream playlists, with tens of millions of streams and a consistent global touring schedule. His 2022 debut album House of Wax racked up over 33 million streams by blending electronic elements with hip-hop influence. Ty Dolla $ign, a two-time Diamond-certified artist and founder of EZMNY Records, adds proven crossover reach through his history of chart records and genre-spanning features.

Wax contributed production to tracks on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures project, and the two have worked on material together for years. That ongoing relationship shapes House of Wax II, which expands Wax’s sound while keeping the club foundation intact. The album balances floor-focused tracks with more developed songwriting aimed at broader audiences.

Here’s what Wax had to about the collaboration:

“People have been asking me forever when Ty and I were finally going to release a record. The funny thing is, we’ve actually been building in that space for years – we even did a whole house project at one point, and one of those early demos ended up becoming the first version of ‘Back To Me’ on Vultures. Going into this album, I knew it was time to finish one of the house records we’d been sitting on and really bring it to life. ‘Bad & U Know It’ felt like the one. It’s got that signature Ty Dolla $ign vocal energy – melodic, soulful, undeniable. But, it still hits like a proper club record. It’s always an honor making music with Ty. He’s one of my favorite artists, but he’s also family. This one feels overdue.”
