The dance music industry is preparing for the return of its longest-running conference as the Winter Music Conference (WMC) announces its second wave of programming for 2026. Scheduled to take place from March 24–26 at the Kimpton EPIC Hotel in Downtown Miami, the 36th edition of WMC aims to bridge the gap between industry veterans and the next generation of creators. The 2026 edition introduces a dual-track educational structure designed to address the specific needs of different industry sectors. The Industry track focuses on the commercial side of electronic music, covering everything from the economics of streaming to how artists can build more direct relationships with their fans through audience ownership and brand partnerships. For those on the production side, the Creators track provides a series of technical workshops and panels centered on studio workflows and the practical application of new technologies in live event environments. A standout feature for the 2026 edition is the brand-new A&R Pop-Up Lounge, presented in partnership with Label Radar. This curated space allows artists to connect directly with representatives from major electronic labels, including Ultra Records, Experts Only, Dirty Workz, and multiple imprints under the Create Music Group umbrella, such as mau5trap and Monstercat. Attendees can submit demos and engage in face-to-face meet-and-greets to accelerate their careers. In addition to the A&R lounge, the WMC Gear Exhibition Room will feature the debut of the L-Acoustics DJ spatial audio system. This immersive system allows DJs to manipulate tracks using machine learning and spatial positioning, offering a glimpse into the future of live performance. The networking experience is further enhanced by the three-day Beatport Live pool party series. Hosted on the rooftop deck of the Kimpton EPIC, these daytime events will feature showcases from renowned imprints like Mood Child, Rekids, and Hot Creations. Pro badge holders will have access to these performances, featuring a lineup of house and techno pioneers including Danny Tenaglia, Radio Slave, and DJ Minx. With the return of the International Dance Music Awards (IDMAs) and a suite of new professional certifications for attendees, WMC 2026 is positioning itself as an essential hub for the global electronic music community.
