W&W’s Willem Takes Touring Break to Focus on Mental Health

W&W fans noticed something different during the duo’s recent performances. Only one member appeared on stage.

Over the weekend, Willem van Hanegem shared a personal message explaining his absence. The Dutch producer revealed he is taking a break from touring to focus on his mental health and recover from exhaustion.

In his statement, Willem explained that the pressure of touring had been weighing on him for some time. After reflecting on it, he realized he needed to pause and reset.

The decision was not easy. Willem told fans he has always placed his career and live performances first since the start of his journey in electronic music. However, he felt it was time to prioritize his well-being.

W&W have remained a staple of festival main stages for more than a decade.

Despite Willem’s absence, scheduled shows continued. Ward van der Harst performed solo at Dreamstate in California and later at Time Nightclub, representing the W&W project on his own.

The duo thanked fans for their understanding and support during this period. Willem also expressed hope that he will return to the stage with Ward soon.

For more than a decade, W&W has remained one of the most recognizable acts in festival EDM. Known for their high-energy big room and trance-inspired sound, the pair has released tracks on major labels and performed at events worldwide.

While fans may temporarily see a different stage dynamic, Ward will continue delivering shows under the W&W name.

For now, Willem is focusing on rest and recovery. Support from fans across social media has already begun pouring in as the producer takes the time he needs before returning to the stage. You can see all of their tour dates for 2026 here.
