On Wednesday evening, Crystal Castles co-founder Alice Glass posted on her Twitter account to address rumors about her cut of Crystal Castles royalties. She denied “[receiving] all the royalties from Crystal Castles music,” claiming that she is actually “being gutted.”

Glass left the group in 2014, and in 2017 accused Crystal Castles co-founder Ethan Kath of rape and abuse that began before the band’s formation and continued as the group toured and released music. Kath launched a defamation lawsuit, which was dismissed, and the Toronto Police opened a sex crime investigation into Kath after other accusers came forward.
In subsequent tweets, Glass asked supporters “to support ethical artists and brands in these difficult times,” said she does not “endorse crystal castles,” and asked fans to stream her solo work. Her upcoming album, Glass said, “is the culmination of years of literal blood sweat sobs screams and tears. She is amazing and She cant wait to meet you.”
