Electronic music marries ancient history in one of the most unique festival settings out there. AURA festival has officially confirmed its debut edition will take place at a 4,000-year-old temple in Sicily this May. The inaugural event runs across Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at Parco Archeologico di Segesta, situated in the stunning hills near Castellammare del Golfo. This isn’t just any venue, and, in fact, not a venue at all: it’s one of Sicily’s most important archaeological treasures, often cited as one of the best examples of Doric architecture anywhere in the world. The artist roster reads like a who’s who of the underground electronic scene. Francesco Del Garda leads the charge alongside Quest, Oshana, Onur Özer, and Josh Baker. The lineup also features Locklead, Sebastian, Traumer, Bartolomeo, Sensazione Stupenda, and Biondo. The temple showcases quintessential Doric architecture with its thick columns, frieze artworks, and simple roofs. While this aesthetic originated in Greece, it survived well into the early-Roman era, creating a backdrop that’s both timeless and otherworldly for electronic music. “AURA was created to forge new connections between people, music, art, and places through an experience that focuses on perception,” a spokesperson for the festival explained. Tickets for AURA’s debut edition are available now through the festival’s official website. *Cover image credit: Prima Pagina CastelvetranoAURA Festival Announces Debut at 4,000-Year-Old Sicilian Temple
