Diplo Goes Full Cowboy with Outfits at Grammy Awards

While dance music as a whole didn’t grace your TV screen during the 62nd Grammy Awards, Diplo sure did. The three-time Grammy Award winning producer arrived in style, sporting a total of three separate red carpet looks throughout the star-studded evening. All three looks pulled inspiration from Diplo’s increasingly growing wardrobe of glam-cowboy attire.

Diplo kicked off the evening by walking the red carpet accompanied by Canadian musician Orville Peck. For his fist look, Diplo wore a chic black and white western tuxedo suit by Ralph Lauren Purple Label. Diplo went all in, completing the ensemble with a black cowboy hat and western turquoise necktie. But of course, it’s Diplo, so he didn’t stop there.

As the evening progressed, Diplo doubled down with a second cowboy outfit. This time rocking a psychedelic yellow western-inspired hippie suit, complete with embellished in roses, clouds, and eyes. The eye-catching outfit made its debut on stage for an all-star performance of ‘Old Town Road’, his massive collaborative hit with Lil Nas x Billy Ray Cyrus. And in true Grammy fashion, BTS and Mason Ramsey joined the crew as cameo appearances during the song’s live performance.

Closing out the evening, Diplo attended the Fiji Water After Party hosted by Republic Records dressed in a silk western-inspired tracksuit, complete with in a groovy cactus print. Once again, adding a cowboy hat and his own collection of bling, to drive the look home.

The Verdict:

If there’s one takeaway from the menswear worn at
the 62nd Grammy Awards, it’s that western wear is having a
pop-culture moment. And with fashion icons like Diplo, Lil Nas, Billy
Porter,
and Post Malone pioneering the trend, it doesn’t look like Hollywood
will be hanging up its chaps anytime soon.
