Dutch Government Cancels All Events Until June 1st – EDMTunes

For the last few weeks, the coronavirus has been affecting the music and entertainment industry extensively. Events and festivals from around the world have been either canceled or postponed due to the illness. The Netherlands is the latest victim affected by the unfortunate pandemic. The Dutch government has officially made the decision to cancel all events until June 1st.

According to Prime Minister Rutte, this decision was made due to people disregarding social distancing warnings and safety precautions. As a result, Dutch national holiday Koningsdag (King’s Day) and Armin Ban Buuren’s “This is Blah Blah” shows will be affected. All kinds of events in the Netherlands have been officially canceled. According to journalist Brenda Stoter, people or companies who refuse to comply with the new law will reportedly be fined or punished.

New corona measures in The Netherlands till June 1:
– no social gatherings and events at all
– people or companies who don’t follow the rules get a fine or punishment
– if one person has a fewer, all family members living in that house have to stay at home

Unfortunately, this decision leads to the cancellations of Hard Dance events such as Kingsland, Titanium Festival, and Harmony of Hardcore. In addition, people are concerned if popular music festival Defqon will take place. Although it is planned to occur at the end of June, there is fear that the government may extend the cancellation of events past June 1st. Only time will tell if this becomes the case.
