Echoe Launches Browser-Based Lossless Audio File Sharing Platform

Berlin-based mixing and mastering engineer Patrik Skoog has officially launched Echoe, a new platform engineered specifically to address the unique workflow challenges faced by music producers, labels, and audio engineers. By moving away from general-purpose cloud storage solutions, the service aims to provide a more specialized environment for high-fidelity audio collaboration.

Streamlining the Production Workflow

For many in the industry, the current landscape of file sharing is fragmented. Producers often rely on platforms like Dropbox, Google Drive, or WeTransfer, which were not built with the specific needs of audio production in mind. These services frequently lack the necessary context for music, such as waveform visualization or integrated feedback mechanisms, and often impose restrictive expiry limits on shared links.

Echoe addresses these pain points by allowing users to stream WAV and AIFF files directly in the browser without any loss in quality. This ensures that critical listening—essential during the mixing and mastering stages—can occur without the re-encoding artifacts common on public streaming platforms.

Integrated Feedback and Collaboration

One of the most significant features of the platform is its approach to communication. Rather than relying on scattered email threads or external messaging apps, Echoe enables users to leave timestamped, context-aware feedback directly on the track’s waveform. This allows collaborators to pinpoint specific moments in a mix, fostering clearer communication and more efficient revision cycles.

The platform also prioritizes ease of use for external clients. Recipients can access shared material and provide feedback without the need to create an account, removing a common barrier to entry in professional workflows. Additional features include playlist organization, file versioning, and password-protected sharing, with the ability to export comment histories as PDFs for comprehensive documentation.

While Echoe offers a free tier for users, the service also provides paid plans that unlock advanced functionality, including file conversion and expanded storage capacity. Pricing for these tiers begins at €10 per month, scaling based on individual storage and bandwidth requirements.
