Live streaming will become much more difficult to do on Facebook for music artists. The popular streaming platform announces that they will be placing some tough restrictions on music streaming beginning on October 1. Although music artists were getting used to engaging with their fans through the social media streaming service, Facebook will unfortunately not allow it, unless there is no music. These music streams will no longer be allowed on the platform. According to one of the guidelines: “You may not use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience … If you use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience for yourself or for others, your videos will be blocked and your page, profile or group may be deleted. This includes Live.” With the new guidelines, DJs will be forced to use other streaming platforms for their music. YouTube and are platforms available for users to stream for free. Artists can also use Mixcloud Live; however, it will be much harder to gain viewers and users will have to pay for a monthly description. Facebook Cracks Down on Live Music Streaming
