Holly Willoughby admits to hilarious This Morning blunder after leaving her mic on while in the loo

This Morning star Holly Willoughby has admitted she accidentally left her microphone on while going to the toilet on set.

The 39 year old presenter revealed how she made the embarrassing gaffe just a few days ago, after her co-host Phillip Scofield shared his favourite video where the same blunder happened to someone in the US.

Holly and Phillip, 57, opened This Morning's Wednesday show by showing the old video, which has recently resurfaced and gone viral.

The five year old clip played on air, showed Texas major Dale Ross going to the toilet in the middle of an official meeting. And, much to all of the members of the meeting room’s amusement, he left his mic on while doing his business – loudly.

While the video aired on the show, a small screen saw Holly and Phillip laughing along. However, once the clip was over, Holly, who was recently reported to have fled the Celebrity Juice set, had a confession to make.

Speaking alongside her co-host Phillip, who recently revealed he did his own makeup ahead of his This Morning appearance, she said: “I have done and not that long ago.

“Only the other day, I came back into the studio and everyone was looking at the floor, and I went: ‘What happened, what happened?’ and Phil went: 'You might have left your mic on’,” she laughed.

However, Holly later insisted her noises while in the toilet weren’t quite as loud as the ones in the viral video.

She insisted: “Luckily I only went for a ladylike tinkle,” before Phillip added: “It was so ladylike,” to which Holly agreed and repeated.

Holly and Philip’s lighthearted start to This Morning comes days after the blonde presenter opened up on her fears her 72 year old mother will catch coronavirus.

Asking guest expert Dr Clair Steves for advice last week, Holly said: “My mum is older than me, she’s 72, so she’s creeping into that age bracket, and my dad.

“As a daughter, because I want to look after them, should I make sure they’ve got enough food in?

“But you don’t want to add to this panic of stockpiling. What does the infrastructure around that look like?”

Dr Claire reassured Holly there was no need for her to stockpile for her parents, and they do not need to self-isolate.

She told the blonde beauty: “Our chief medical officers say people need to take precautions but they don’t need to isolate themselves.

“It might not be long until people with underlying conditions may need to isolate themselves and we need to make sure these people are supported.

“Just think about who’s going to get the shopping — do we have a back-up plan? It’s time to start sharing phone numbers with people.”
