James Hurr Makes His Debut on FLAMENCA Records with ‘Gitanita’

Celebrated UK producer James Hurr has officially made his debut on FLAMENCA Records with the release of his latest single, ‘Gitanita‘. This track marks his second collaboration with label boss STBAN, following their successful partnership on ‘El Camino’, which was released via Toolroom Records late last year.

‘Gitanita’—a title translating to “gypsy” in Spanish—sees the creative team reunite with the renowned Flamenco singer Sandra Carrasco and the pioneering guitarist Josemi Carmona. The composition is defined by Carmona’s delicate, undulating guitar rhythms that shuffle against traditional Iberic-style percussion. Carrasco’s evocative vocal performance adds a layer of emotional tension, resulting in a track that bridges the gap between the raw, historical power of flamenco and the high-energy demands of the modern dance floor.

Reflecting on the creative process, James Hurr noted, “Collaborating with STBAN has been an exciting musical challenge, taking me away from my comfort zone and into the modal world of flamenco music. There’s something dark and mysterious in STBAN’s music that works perfectly with driving club beats.”

STBAN echoed this sentiment, adding, “I’m delighted to be working again with James, and to have him officially releasing on the FLAMENCA Records label after our Toolroom collaboration is the icing on the cake. Once again, we’ve co-created a beautiful fusion between the worlds of flamenco and electronic.”

The release is currently available across all major streaming platforms, further cementing the collaborative synergy between these artists.
