Juan Wauters enlists Homeshake for new song “Monsoon”

At the end of the month, the ramshackle Queens-based signer-songwriter Juan Wauters will return with his new album Real Life Problems. We’ve already heard the singles “Real” featuring Mac DeMarco, “Presentation” with Nick Hakim and Benamin, “Unity” featuring Cola Boyy,” and “Estás Escuchando” with El David Aguilar. Today, we get another one of the project’s anticipated tracks, “Monsoon,” a collaboration with Montreal bedroom R&B artist Homeshake. The latest song is a cozy cut of synth-pop inspired by ’80s funk, and comes with a video directed by DINOMOVES and Buck. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on — it seems like a Thelma & Louise retelling in the countryside mixed with a cut-and-paste aesthetic — but I had a lot of fun watching it. Check it out for yourself, and get ready for Real Life Situations, out April 30.
