Kanye West shares new documentary LAST WEEK

Kanye West has released a new 30-minute documentary titled LAST WEEK. The film, uploaded to YouTube on Monday (October 10), depicts West taking meetings and attending a children’s basketball game with his family and ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Watch above.

LAST WEEK opens with the Grand Theft Auto-inspired skit shot in Tokyo featuring outfits from West’s YZY Gap line (the video was previewed in September on West’s Instagram Story). From there, the film depicts West in meetings discussing clothing designs, urban farming, and his school Yeezy Christian Academy — at one point, he appears to be at a summit with representatives from Adidas, which West accuses of plagiarizing his designs. At one point in this gathering, he plays an excerpt of a pornographic film. Between the meetings, there are shots of West being driven around listening to songs from his album Donda 2 as well as unreleased snippets.

The film does not address the controversial and highly contentious statements West made in the past seven days. On October 3, West debuted a White Lives Matter shirt at his Yeezy Season 9 show in Paris; he later called the Black Lives Matter movement a “scam” and told Tucker Carlson that he made the shirt because the statement was the “obvious thing.

In the same interview, West accused Jared Kushner, a Jewish man who served as President Donald Trump’s senior advisor, of seeking financial gain through making deals between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. Criticized for antisemitism, West on Saturday accused Diddy of being controlled by Jewish people in text messages he shared on Instagram. The post was removed by Instagram and West’s access to his account was restricted; soon after, West took to Twitter and declared that he was going “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” Again, the post was removed and West was locked out of his account.
