Clairo has shared “Just For Today,” a new song inspired by the mental toll of the lockdown. The new track was shared on her Instagram page, where the songwriter expounded on the creation of the song.
“I wrote this last night and i feel there’s no real reason I should hold onto it,” Clairo wrote before noting that her new dog Joanie makes an appearance during the song. Read her full statement below:
not sure about you, but my mental health has taken a major dip since quarantine started- at times I feel like i’ve never felt worse. new medication, hotlines, and one scheduled appointment with a psychiatrist later and i’m feeling more like myself again. I wrote this last night and i feel there’s no real reason I should hold onto it. Hope you enjoy the song and Joanie’s squeaks

Clairo has spent quarantine uploading lo-fi recordings to the internet. She’s shared “february 15, 2020 london, uk,” a cover of “I’ll Try Anything Once” by The Strokes, and formed the band Shelly with Claud, Josh Mehling and Noa Frances Getzug.
