Soca boss Machel Montano shared the touching video for his single “2U” on Monday. The bouncy, mid-tempo track finds the artist in the throes of love, an apt post-Valentine’s Day release and a strong stand-in for cancelled pre-lenten carnival celebrations across Trinidad & Tobago.
The clip features behind-the-scenes footage from Montano’s life and wedding, including the on-stage ceremony at one of his last live shows from 2020. The single serves as the first from his upcoming album The Wedding Album, set to drop on February 19 with features from Vybz Kartel, Afro B, Teddy Riley, and more.
Montano also announced the two-hour broadcast of last year’s Machel Monday, his annual carnival concert series that ended in 2020 after a decade-long run. The special streams Monday, February 15 at 6 p.m. EST at machelmontano.com
