Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘flee to California to set up permanent home’ amid coronavirus

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly left their temporary place in Canada and fled to California to set up their permanent home.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are thought to have left Canada before the United States of America closed their borders to all outgoing and incoming flights amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Meghan, 38, and 35 year old Prince Harry, who share ten month old son Archie, are said to be setting up their new home close to Hollywood, where it is reported they are currently living in lockdown.

It is believed the couple, who recently shared a sweet post to mark Meghan's first Mother's Day since giving birth to baby Archie, chose this specific place to be surrounded by close friends, Meghan's mother 63 year old Doria, as well as their PR managers.

A royal insider told The Sun: "Harry and Meghan have left Canada now for good. The borders were closing and flights were stopping. They had to get out.

"But this move was planned for some time. They realised Canada would not work out for various reasons and they want to be based in the Los Angeles area.

"They have a big support network there. It’s where their new team of Hollywood agents and PRs and business managers are based. Meghan has lots of friends there and, of course, her mum Doria."

They added that the move has "stunned" select members of the Royal Family as it was believed they would potentially return to the United Kingdom to help their relatives, including Harry's 71 year old father Prince Charles, who was recently diagnosed with coronavirus.

However, it was recently reported that Meghan, whose first job since stepping down as a senior member of the royal family has been confirmed, had told her husband that "under no circumstances, is she okay with him travelling anywhere right now."

An insider said: "Meghan said Harry's been in touch with his dad… Of course, he's frustrated.

"She said they both are frustrated because they are doers and want to do so much more to help.

"Meghan told her inner circle of friends that Harry has been communicating with Prince William and the Queen on a pretty consistent basis.
