Oliver Heldens is really showing off this year. With the amount of free time gained from the pandemic, Heldens has taken advantage of his talent as I’ve never seen him do before. Now, he returns with a very special collaboration to prove that he’s more than ready to get back at it as soon as possible. Oliver Helden’s new collab, featuring American duo is titled ‘Set Me Free’. Performances in some of the world’s most amazing places, a handful of amazing live sets before the pandemic (nope – I’m still not over EDC Mexico 2020), and a ton of amazing new tracks – Heldens is riding 2020 the proper way, demonstrating that he’s as much of a producer as he’s of a DJ. His sound delivers a unique groove that makes you want to dance every time he drops a new track. Vocals, melodies, arpeggios, and one of the sexiest drum pattern minds in the world all come together every time Heldens enters the studio. Party Pupils is by now a certified funk factory inside EDM. Their joyful sound is unique, not even comparable to anyone inside the industry. They deliver a retro feeling as they manage to turn any track and remix into a hot club banger – something you’d enjoy both at a club at 1am or at a beach club mid-afternoon, with a margarita by your side. On this new collab, MAX, one of the duo’s half provides the vocals and does an amazing job at it. Certainly, Helden’s and Pupil’s styles are different. However, the fusion is perfect, and I love it!
