Legendary Trance producer and DJ Paul van Dyk released the 10th studio album, Guiding Light, recently via his record imprint VANDIT Records. The 14-track LP features a handful of collaborations alongside Chris Bekker, Vincent Corver, Shedona, Eugenio Tokarev, Vini Vici and others. Paul had originally planned to release this project in the early summer, followed by a world tour, but with everything going on he obviously had to pivot. Initially he ended up shelving the project right as the pandemic hit as he did not think it was appropriate to release an album full of uplifting, 135+ BPM trance music at a time when nobody would be able to congregate together on dancefloors. Instead, he released an aptly titled chill-out album – Escape Reality – featuring soothing, downtempo reworks of some of his classic records.
