Pioneer DJ’s New VM Series Speakers Brings The Club To You

Pioneer DJ just announced a new line of speakers for your home called the VM Series. Since the COVID-19 pandemic deprived us of live events for over a year, these speakers aim to bring the club to you. The infamous DJ equipment company is featuring three premium near-field monitor speakers. They will be part of their VM series, with models VM-50, VM-70, and VM-80. The speakers cater to artists looking to integrate the club and studio atmosphere into their own spaces. Does that mean it applies to us layman users as well? With a minimal, fresh, and sleek design, they stand between 12 to 16 inches tall.

Let’s take a look at the specs:
  • Class D amplifier for clear, low-distortion audio with fast-attacking bass to recreate that club-style sound
  • 4mm thick aluminum baffle for a minimalistic look and helps minimize vibrations for lower audio distortion
  • 96 kHz sampling to enable wide-bandwidth audio reproduction
  • DSP control
  • 16 EQ settings for adjusting music based on your preferred style
  • Aramid fiber woofer cones and Vortex Bass Accelerator
  • The VM-50 has maximum sound pressure of 107 dB
  • The VM-70 and VM-80 have maximum sound pressure of 112dB and 115 dB respectively

Pioneer DJ also states that these should help audio be heard the way it was meant to. Comparable to Sony’s premium RA5000 360 Reality Audio speaker, Pioneer’s will be dubbed the affordable version. The phrase “you get what you pay for” does go a long way. But in the diverse realm of music, it doesn’t hurt to have something easy on the wallet and still deliver quality audio. The VM-50 is the only one available in black and white, with the VM-70 and VM-80 sporting the black look solo.

Available in early April, the smallest costs $69 while the other two units cost $229 and $289 respectively. It’s not a bad price point for a nice home setup. Music and culture are in Pioneer’s DNA and they design products that create immersive sound experiences. We can’t wait to hear about how this high-quality speaker delivers.
