Razer Confirms To Manufacture Smart RGB Masks

Razer CEO Min-Luang Tan confirmed this week that the company is going to make their Project Hazel smart RGB masks a reality. This is going to be their first-ever high-tech face mask infused with working RGB lights, a built-in microphone, and speaker. We’ve seen pictures of the item and it looks very much like a futuristic ninja mask. Your dreams of becoming a Cyberpunk can soon come true. Tan detailed his plans to Yahoo Finance.

Razer states that Project Hazel is going to be as effective as N95 masks with bacterial filtration efficiency pods. Those are capable of trapping 95% of airborne particles and will have adjustable straps for an airtight seal. What’s more, is it will vent out CO2 and bring in fresh air. Tan hasn’t stated when the masks will go into production but there is a reason why he’s producing these. He believes that masks will stay for a very long time, and so why not spruce it up a notch?

Countries may not be able to vaccinate their entire population within the next two years, and masks may be required for travel still. When the pandemic first hit last year, Razer produced and donated around 1 million disposal masks to health authorities around the world. They also made various donations to COVID-19 campaigns. But now, they’re looking to something more sustainable.

So, About The Mask

Now, the details you may have been wanting to know. The mask is in its conceptual stage with the intent to evolve for the need of picking up on human interactive cues. It has a transparent front cover with the microphone and speaker built-in to amplify your voice. The air ventilation system mentioned earlier gets rid of the breath fog and perhaps even glasses fog. And, everything is just better with RGB lights. May this smart RGB mask service the needs of gamers, ravers, Cyberpunks, Blade Runners, and every dystopian junkie out there.

“So with that in mind, we are going to go ahead and solve the sustainable aspect of the mask which is one of the big things for us. Project Hazel is going to be a reality. We are going to make it happen and I think we will all be, unfortunately, wearing masks for a long time to come.”
