Did you recognize this track? Lane 8, the boss of This Never Happened, featured it in his mixtape that was released last week. ‘Déjà Vu’ is the final release by Rinzen before his album drops on TNH on April 5th. The song begins with Moonwater’s upbeat voice along with glissando bass notes, creating an ominous vibe, and Rinzen incorporates a chunky synth melody. Sundius’ sci-fi concept is once again portrayed through this track, bringing out a contrasting theme of harsh reality and hopeful intention. Rinzen highlights his choice of collaboration with Molly Moonwater or known as her indie/alt moniker Sophie Bel.

‘Molly Moonwater’s original demo of ‘Déjà Vu’ was very slow and felt like a ‘90s ballad, but I was enchanted by her vocal. I sped up the song to 120 BPM and added a chugging bassline and suddenly it took on this entire new life. Once I figured out the synth melody, I knew it was going to be a key song on the album
