Spencer Brown – I Was Too Young for 90s Raves EP

Spencer Brown takes a dive into the deep depths of music as he debuts his I Was Too Young for 90s Raves EP on Insomniac’s Factory 93 Records imprint. It consists of three mind melting tracks that take you through timeless grooves. The UK sensation has made a name for himself in all things progressive and now he’s stepping out and hitting us with some melodic techno with euphoric house. This mini compilation is afterhours deep house at its finest.

First up is ‘Thanks, Guys‘ which debuted on May 21st, introducing the tone for the EP. It amalgamates techno with a tribal melody and a technical bassline that drives you. What’s more, is the groove he sets up carries throughout the track and sets you on a path to sunsets on a beach or lights down low in a warehouse. The next track is a collaboration with Raito with an unknown ID at the moment, but you can hear both artists’ elements in this techno track. Its sinister melody coupled with a retro bassline and hard kicks throws you back with nostalgia. He came to the right producer to create an old-school rave track with.

The esteemed French producer is the master of breakbeats, old school, and French electro mixed with his Raito flair. This is a great collaboration to throw onto the repertoire of Factory 93. Lastly, the title track releases and ‘I Was Too Young For 90s Raves‘ brings it home. Adding more subtle elements of progressive house, this one showcases Brown’s signature sound. The melody is pure groove accompanied by swaying percussion and sub-bass. Overall, these tracks show a great introduction to the third artist being minted into the label.

Spencer shows us that you’re never too old for 90s raves. Listen to what the madness is all about below.
