To commemorate its 40th anniversary as a label, 4AD announced a new compilation of covers featuring artists like U.S. Girls, Tkay Maidza, The Breeders, and more contributing their own takes on some of the label’s earlier releases. The compilation, Bills & Aches & Blues, drops digitally on April 2, with LPs, CDs, and a deluxe vinyl set all slated for release later this year. Proceeds from the album will go to Los Angeles–based after-school program Harmony Project for the first year. Five of the project’s tracks are out today, including Tkay Maidza’s take on Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” and Aldous Harding covering Deerhunter’s “Revival”. Other artists on the compilation include Dry Cleaning, SOHN, Helado Negro, Future Islands, and more.
