One of the most anticipated movies of the year is The Matrix Resurrections, the fourth installment in the iconic sci-fi action series, and today the film’s first official trailer has dropped. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss return as Neo and Trinity, respectively, with Lana Wachowski directing and co-writing the film (Lilly Wachowski, who co-wrote and directed the first three films with her sister Lana, declined to return for the fourth film). The trailer reveals some new faces too, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Candyman) appears as a very Morpheus-y looking character, and Neil Patrick Harris shows up as Neo’s therapist. Now, if everyone would just get vaccinated and stay inside until this movie gets released on December 22, we can safely enjoy it in theaters, (mostly) free from the shadow of COVID.
